Can lymes disease lead to depression?

I've had lymes disease before, and yesterday the psychiatrist diagnosed me with major depression (with it also being a possibility for me to have SAD). I'm not going on meds until we get the blood work for lymes disease. but I was just wondering if there is any distinction between symptoms of major depression and symptoms of depression caused my lymes.

Just for the record, last year about this time I was tested and it came up dormant.

This guy seems to think so, and he cites some evidence as well as a personal anecdote to support his claims: http://www.mentalhealthandillness.com/Ar…

Several websites that seem rather official on lyme disease all say that it is linked to depression. One blog I read said that depression is generally linked to late stage (i.e. chronic) lyme disease.
