Could this be another mental disorder?

Hi, I am currently 18 years old, and have been suffering from depression for about two years now - for which I went to therapy and was prescribed medication when it started. anyway, I have not been taking the medication for some months now, after accidentally weaning myself off of it. Now, I have started to notice things about my behaviour that have been existant for some time, but have only recently become of major concern to me. Here is a link to a list I have compiled, as it will not fit here:

There are lots more, but do you think these could possibly be symptoms of another type of mental illness besides depression? I know that manic depression and bipolar disorder run in my family, as well as OCD and OCPD. could this be something I should be seeking treatment for? thank you in advance for any help.

Ummm yea.. I think some medical attention is in order.

These symptoms are different than what depression is. please go to the Dr's and tell them everything you have told on here. It almost sounds like you have a auditory problem with the noises that bother you. the urges you describe are not normal either. You need to understand that Bi-polar is just a word that means you have a chemical in-balance in your brain and once they get they straight it usually gets better. Go to your Dr's and tell them how you feel. and yes you are to old for play dates that is whole different subject at 18 you don't need your parents setting up play time for you. I pray that you get the help you need.

Well, the fact that you asked here indicates you're seeking help, which is good. the list of stuff you provided indicates you should probably see a psychologist to start. they can evaluate you and refer you to a psychiatrist if necessary if they suspect some organic problem requiring medication.

The issues you raise are not typical, and you're concerned about them, so yes - see someone. On the bright side, you are concerned and want to fix them, and presumably be treated if necessary, so that makes you a good candidate for getting this fixed.

Some people don't want to admit to any issues or accept treatment, and they live in their own hell. You don't like where you are and want to change it, so that's good.

Good luck!
