Depression and Being Pregnant

It is very common to be depressed during your pregnancy. This happens because you are suffering strong emotional changes. Almost ten per cent of the pregnant women are depressive during their pregnancy. the most exposed women to depression are those who are pregnant or those who have given birth recently. This symptom can easily be mistaken for another symptom of your pregnancy or with a temporary affection. the depressions you have after giving birth are called postpartum depressions.

The good news is that you can treat it. It is very important to talk to your doctor if you have the impression that you are suffering from depression. Left untreated, it can cause a lot of problems, both to you and to your baby. here are a few things of the signs of this affection.

Depression develops very slowly, the symptoms varying from one person to another. first of all, you can lose your appetite or, just the opposite, you can start eating too much. Then, you can have sleep disturbances, meaning that you either sleep too much or too little. you can be tired all the time or you may have no energy whatsoever or you can be very upset, discouraged or have the feeling that you are worth nothing. also, crying is another symptom, as well the lack of interest or joy towards the things you used to love.

Not treating your depression can do a lot of harm both to you and to your baby. you can make a lot f uninspired decisions and these decisions can cost you your life or your baby's. Therefore, if you feel there is any chance you might be going through such a period, you should consult your doctor about it and take all the necessary measures to prevent it or treat it.
