Do I show symptoms of manic depression?

I am a very hyperactive person, and sometimes have huge hyper attacks that afterwards I cannot remember. I can also very quickly become moody and depressed. I'm good in classes and do well, but I seem to not have a lack for sleep, and can go days without it and not even feel tired. I usually fill this time with the internet. I get up at 7 and sleep at 3, the earliest i ever sleep is 1. Sometimes I just don't sleep. yet no matter how much sleep I get, I am very hyperactive.

You described your "high" periods well, what about your low periods? Manic depression is characterized by both the highs and the lows.

You said you can become moody and depressed quickly, but how long does it last? Everyone becomes moody and depressed sometimes. If the "low" periods last for days to weeks and are really bad, like laying in bed crying nonstop for no true reason, then I'd say yes, with the high periods that you described, it probably is manic depression.

If your lows are just a couple hours or a day here and there where you feel moody and depressed and the rest of the time you're always on a high period and feeling great, then I'd say maybe you just have some serious energy to work out or maybe more probably ADHD.

Edit: go see a psychiatist then, it really does sound like manic depression. It sounds like it really sucks, I know there's not really any cure for it but maybe therapy and medication will help you. It is a serious disorder, I think you should see someone for help.

Maybe your not eating the right food. Eating junk can cause depression and affect your moods and sleep. you also say that your naturally hyperactive, so it doesn't mean there is anything mentally wrong with you. Maybe your stressed about something? maybe thats why you dont sleep.
I use to go through periods of not sleeping at all through the night and then sleeping through the day because of depression. And also constantly craving food because my whole body clock was all over the place because of my daily routine.
It could be just that, or that you know its more of a mental thing. In that case, you could be depressed. but depression is different from being a manic depressive.

YOu may have manic bipolar. Wen your manic you tend to need less to no sleep and have Energy beyond what is normal for you. you very rarely feel tired and have mood swing and are you having and changes in your diet? Eating less eating more? And does your family history have any indications that your family may have had someone withe mental disturbances. you having serious symptoms. you should see a psychiatrist.
