lol theres so much truth to what the people giving advice are saying, especially the last guy, and many of the depressed people commenting completely dismiss it by being closed-minded faggots with persecution complexes

Yeah but I used to have dreams, not just a simple job that helps me get by, put food on the table, what kind of life is that? It is not really purpose driven or gratifying for me, I wanted to be a doctor once, and was on that path.. Now I have no chance. In the end we lose everything anyway, and coping with existence is indeed rough. I do appreciate the comment, it is still somewhat comforting.

This is not really a good advice video for someone who is very depressed

the last guy is on to something. Enough crying, i'm gonna get dressed and go out for a run right now.

@bqureshi21 not true, not true. I'm in the same spot: in college, and not a good student as of late. However, I think it helps to maintain a healthy skepticism of societal expectations. so what if you barely scrape out with a BA? that's all most jobs are looking for anyway. grades only define you in so far as you let them. I'm still learning a lot. More than I think I would if I had my nose to the grindstone trying to get absolutely the best grades. That said, it is rough trying to cope :[

Having a good laugh at the insensitive, self-obsessed and cerebrally challenged is another great remedy ; )

Depression messes with the mind and body in such incredible ways. Several years ago while going through a divorce I went 7 days and 6 nights without sleep, food, maybe a glass of water a day, and lived off of pills. I was fortunate to have many family members who called, usually at just the right moment if you know what I mean, yet it still took several years to recover. I'm in a rough spot now, but not as bad as then, and I have my children to thank for that. Picking up the pieces isnt easy.

It's not about just being sad. I've been sad and I've been depressed. Depression has a gripping hold on your physical and mental ability to find joy in the things that would normally make you happy. For me, and I am in a rough state of depression right now, the only thing that keeps me moving forward is spending time with my children. My kids wont cheat, leave without warning, and they love me unconditionally just because I'm their dad. Its not easy to deal with. Gotta find what really matters.

@nerosine9 that excatly what i wanted to say thank you

  10. drgntatu says:

It helps immensely, I agree. Hardest part is pulling your head out of your own ass and getting up and doing something. I'm going through a depressed period right now and I know how to correct it, it's making that first step that's the toughest. Good advice.

That's true....IF you can force yourself outside or to actually exercise. Some people simply just can't...but if you can, it definitely helps!

  18. nerosine9 says:

haha well I don't go to college because I don't have money, cant get a job because my country is so fucked up that you need strong connections to even get a job at supermarket. And the way things are going I probably wont live to be 28 or 30 year old. So shut up, do some exercise get focused and drink some antidepresives.

  19. ManykAngel says:

@bigfy94 it does but, you have to stick with it for it to do any good. and part of being depressed is losing intrest in everything.

  20. ManykAngel says:

i take my meds but, it just supresses it my only hope is knowing that if i keep the one's i love close to me that my depression will pass because i have clinical bipolar. and half is being manic and half is being depressed. all these suggestions are from people who think depression is just being sad it's not.
