I have depression and anxiety, and I don't go outside very much. I currently take a B-Complex vitamin with included vitamin C and E, 100 mg of omega 3 fish oil concentrate, and 200 mg of Sam-e. is it safe to continue these and add Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin D, and 5htp supplements? how about selenium? Are some unnecessary?
I don't want to take a lethal amount or combine vitamins that shouldn't be combined. I would ask a doctor, but I can't afford a visit, so if anyone has advice from experience or just general knowledge in this, that would be appreciated.
Elise: the B vitamin family is great. it perfectly safe to combine the natural supplements and vitamins you mentioned. you may also want to try a natural blend supplement for anxiety such as seredyn or panicyl.
I would say that you are probably better off taking a good multi that has D in it (since you don't go outside much). in addition, I would recommend Stress Less for the depression and have on hand Anxiet-Ease for the intense moments of anxiety attacks. both can be found at Obvious (link below).
Perhaps you should consider going outside more often. if you are depressed, I understand that you may not be motivated to do so, however, just getting some sun on your face and fresh air in your lungs will do a world of good.
Safe combination of vitamins for depression and anxiety?
