my mother was severely depressed, terrorized and stressed because she had a heartless and abusive husband. I've noticed I have low concentration, forgetfulness, stuttering/slur speech, anxiety and difficulties following instructions. also im gay. can this be caused by the fluctuating hormones during pregnancy caused by depression & stress.
I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. =( well the good news is, low concentration and forgetfulness and even anxiety is all apart of being pregnant. I say anxiety because most pregnant worry if their baby is ok, etc. because you are pregnant, your hormones are even elevated more. So you may be double wammied with an overflowing feeling of sad and just being down. I would seriously talk to your Dr. about what to do. Perhaps try counseling during pregnancy so you can at least share your feelings with someone of the neutral nature and they can help you through the stressful times. it should help you out a lot. There are some safe medications you can take while pregnant to help out with your depression. But only your Dr. would know which ones would be ok. Your baby is already pre-wired, so as long as you are not stressed out to the point of high blood pressure, your baby will be perfectly safe and it will not affect their intellect. just play some music for them and concentrate on your pregnancy and the joy your baby will bring you and really see if you can talk to someone.
I don't think so. I think some of those things could stem from a stressful/neglectful childhood. So,if your mom and/or dad wasn't very nurturing and loving,it could cause you some emotional issues as an adult.
A lot of people go through that. no one has a perfect upbringing. everyone I always talk to say their parents effed them up.
There are alot of people who have gone through extremely stressful pregnancies but they have healthy babies with normal IQ or average intellect. So really, I have no idea
