    Hey Michelle,
I was just running through some past
comments on my videos and I saw yours
and just wanted to say thank you for the
amazingly cool compliments. It's been a long
time since you wrote this but it was sure
what I needed to see tonight so Thanks!

Yes some seeds do contain cyanide but in the form seeds provide it if eaten within reason will prevent and fight cancer, whereas in isolated form as a chemical it will kill you. Animals will eat vegetation like Johnson grass and seeds with cyanide in them when they sense they need it and after absorbing the good out of it they often throw up the grass which also tends to help them eliminate other toxins. Read the book "World without Cancer" or go to one of their websites for more explanation.

I burned out four brand new blenders including a couple of Hamilton Beach ones within a few days doing green smoothies before I got my Vita-Mix. The first one I got used off ebay and later got a new one and kept the used one as a backup as I teach classes on eating raw vegan and do green smoothies all the time. Normal blenders don't do well with things like broccoli, the spines of kale and collards, and they aren't high speed enough to truly blend up the flax seeds I add to my smoothies.

OK first of all this guy is really cute.

Question: How do you know about this stuff?

Can you post the recipe you used?

Can I make this in a food processor instead? I won't be putting in the avocado pit.

  8. ACEBAKER911 says:

Get a Hamilton Beach dual wave blender for $ 60 on Ebay

they are very powerful ! Expensive $ 400 blenders are NOT needed

  9. breakingsoftware says:

Use spinach not romain or green leaf. You won't taste the spinach unless you go WAY overboard.

That's right about avocado pits being poisonous. Apple seeds are dangerous, too. Apple seeds can kill children, or make them extremely sick, just like apple seeds can do to adults. When I was a kid, I ate some apple seeds one time, and I threw up for five minutes straight. I wouldn't ever recommend eating them.

    RJ,
Do you taste the lettuce in your smoothie?I made mine this morning with the same ingredients and romaine lettuce and i have an after taste of lettuce, i was just wondering if is suppose to taste that way,and how do you know how many horse power your blender is?I got a "Betty Crocker"Blender for a gift but i dont have the instruction manuel that comes with it..
    thanks, your videos are great!!!

When did I say avocado pits were healthy? Pits are not eatable seeds. Flax seeds are eatable; apricot & apple seeds are eatable. Are you aware that Vitamin B-12 contains a form of cyanide too? No one is dying from Vitamin B-12. Same goes with Vitamin B-17, which is in apple and apricot seeds, NOT large indigestible pits. When it comes to nature & science, things that might have a naturally harmful chemical can be quite healthy, given their natural sequence. When it is isolated, it's a problem.

  13. Mikeraymond11111 says:

I'm not sure why you say it's a myth. The Red Cross lists avocado pits as a poison, along with black hemlock and rhubarb leaves. If they have some beneficial compounds, that's good information. But if the pits have toxic substances that can kill pets and make people sick (which the Red Cross says is true), it's good for people to be aware of that so they can make an informed decision about whether or not to eat them.

I've had about 4 glasses of green smoothie today and I feel like a fucking Dinosaur!!

  15. 1776in2008 says:

You're wrong. Seeds can be very healthy. In fact, many frut seeds are healthy to eat. The whole cyanide thing is getting very old. Apricot pits must be cracked open in order to access the seed of the apricot. Apricot & apple seeds, for example, are very powerful cancer fighters. Within the seeds is a very powerful anti-cancer nutrient called amygdalin. The whole thing about apple seeds and cyanide is an old unfounded myth. Perhaps you should learn biochemistry 101 before spreading such nonsense.

    Hi RJ,

Just discovered your videos, and am highly impressed and inspired! I've long been interested in ideas RE: becoming a more nurturing person; it seems that feeding ourselves nourishing foods is one good component of that. I like the spirit, and all the practical info. in your videos. I just bought a juicer thinking that would be best; awaitg it's arrival. Would like to ask you a few questions about Blenders (I'll buy one of those, next...) but your website's down. Best way to contact?

  17. kssmith20 says:

omg you are NOT 42!! that is amazing.

  18. Mikeraymond11111 says:

Hi guy, good video, I would just make one comment, be careful about eating those avocado pits. See, the plant wants animals (and people) to eat the fruit, not the seed, so there is cyanide in the seeds, can make you pretty sick. Same thing with peach and apricot pits. So eat the fruit but not too many of those pits.

  19. coconutboi11 says:

MUCH better without the hair and stache... And thank you for the info!

    Great video!!

  21. michellerobin1979 says:

Everyone is right you have such perfect skin. Your eyes are so sparkly...lucky wife! You could model or do comercials. I wonder if my new vita mix would blend the pits too? If you could bottle and sell what ever is keeping you looking like your in your 20's youd make millions. We just started doing smoothies but I am certainly going to try it your way. Thanks for posting your videos.

  22. reforest4fertility says:

Lemon rind adds zest--actually, it is zest. Oh my! That's brave: blending the avocado pit, let alone eating it. Hmm, i guess i would try it. I mean eat it (drink it), but dunno if i could bring myself to make it that way. But then I wont bring myself to take pharmaceuticals either. Good thing I'm not younger. No doubt I'd be diagnosed with this'n that & medicated to the hilt if I was being brought up these daze. Better 2 B gen X than generation rX

  23. rjncaction says:

    Hi,
Yea I know mixing the fruits with the veggies freaked me out a bit in the beginning but it really does work out alright. I would not live without my green fruity smoothies now.

    Thanks for the note!

    RJ

  24. shelbyoryan says:

i agree that this smoothie must be really nutritious but damn... how can u mix banana with vegetables lol
i always juice and make smoothies but i personally have to seperate the veggies drinks from the fruit drinks. your lucky that your less picky... less drinks to make lol

  25. rjncaction says:
