What should I do about this?

For as long as I can remember I've been feeling the way I do to present date, and I recently looked around and found something that fits what's been going on with me for my whole life like a glove. I have nearly all of the symptoms of manic depression, but my mom (the only adult figure left in my life) won't acknowledge it. I feel like I'm suffering every single day of my life, and I try to suppress it, but lately it's been taking a toll on me and my mood changes and states of mind are starting to get worse and stronger. I've taken several online tests and each one of them said I should get help but I can't. Like I said, she won't listen to me when I try to tell her what's wrong. now, both sides of my family have a long line of manic depressives; my mother's parents are both dead from depression which lead them into alcoholism, and my father is a fugitive, and he also has manic depression and alcoholism, along with his parents, and so on for both sides. All of my relatives have told me about their parents or someone in the family having manic depression and or alcoholism, and from what I've learned it's partially genetic. I can't take this anymore, and I don't know what to do. I need advice. I greatly appreciate any help you can give me

If you only have one adult figure left in your life you should call a Hotline. Tell them, everyone needs somone to count on or talk to. I on the other hand like others don't have that luxury. I wish you the best of luck.

Blessed be.

At this point, don't rely on your mom for help (as shameful as that sounds!). she is obviously in denial and doesn't understand that her son needs help. Do you go to high school? College? I know that a lot of school systems offer free counseling if need be. If you aren't in school, you should look into contacting a local psychologist near you. I'm pretty sure if you are over 16 you don't need any parental consent for an appointment. Good luck to you!

Dear Guy,
You don't say how old you are or why you need to get your mother's approval to get the hep you need.
First, let me assume you are a minor or perhaps a college student. If that is the case, you can go to your front office at school or the admissions office and ask for counseling as part of your student aid package...she doesn't have to approve of it or even know about it.
Or, if you are an adult, you need to circumvent your mother completely and go directly to see a psychiatrist ( a medical doctor who can treat Bipolar Disorders) and get the treatment you need.

Why does Mom even enter into this?
I wish you all the best.
